December 2014 - Brief Summary

Remember, my opinion is subject to change...

Normally I post this on the 1st of the next month, but 1st January is set aside for my Review of 2014.

Best Film:

Well, as only new film releases seen at the cinema qualify, I cannot choose 'Blade Runner', '2001', or 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. Which leaves an underwhelming bunch. Of those, 'Big Eyes' was probably the best. It's not brilliant, but it's a decent, watchable biopic.

Worst Film:

Unbearably full of itself.

Worst Product Advert:

Hmm... should I bother with this one? After all, I'm be summing up the year's entire supply of adverts soon (that's where most of my efforts are focused). But I'm not going to miss the opportunity to have a go at a couple of adverts! Mwahahaha!

First up is this monstrosity:

Now, this one is technically for the Minion film, but was used to advertise other things as well so I think it sneaks through. And if it doesn't, it's still 'worth' bringing up to point out how irritating it is. I'm glad I only saw it once (on the rare trip to a Vue cinema).

Up next is this Mitsubishi advert:

I didn't get this one. It seems to be implying that a car that can drive on roads in cities is something revolutionary. You see, now Mitsubishi have created a car that can slowly drive round wide empty streets! Genius(!). It makes me wonder how all previous Mitsubishi's handled things:

Ok, what else is there? There was that irritating PS4 12 Days of Christmas one:
But that is hardly the worst Christmas advert going around this year. Just irritating and does very little to convince me that buying what is has to offer is worth it (even though I know that games like 'The Last of Us' are, indeed, worth buying).

There was a Calvin Klein advert somewhere which I recall being dire, but I cannot find it at the moment (though I am barely trying).

Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now.

Also from the Month:
'A Year On From Disney's Frozen: Is The Fuss Still Worth It?'
'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - ROH Live Screening'

Pointless extra details:
Most Viewed Review: 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - ROH Live Screening'
Least Viewed Review: 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb', 'Dumb and Dumber To'
(Technically, the least viewed one is 'Unbroken', but that's because it has just been posted)
